You Are Not Alone
You Are Not Alone by Mavis Staples (download here) (Buy from Amazon) Happy New Year people. This is one of my favorite tracks of 2010 and a fitting track to end the year on. It’s a modern hymn, written by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and sung by the legend Mavis
Red-Eyed for Wilco
Red-Eyed and Blue by Wilco (download here) (Buy from Amazon) Just a great great song. I love songs with a good amount of whistling and this one doesn’t disappoint. I’m not sure why this isn’t overplayed on classic rock radio stations but I’m both happy and sad for it.

Tell Me A Lie
Tell Me A Lie by Griffin House (download here) (Buy from Amazon) This is a great song that is sad and beautiful. I thank Everett Case for sharing the tune back in 2006.
The Devil’s Tears
The Devil’s Tears by Angus & Julia Stone (download here) (Buy from Amazon) This brother-sister pair from Australia have one of the year’s best albums. It’s very chill but still great. I got addicted to Angus when he released a solo album last year with band name Lady of the Sunshine (and posted here and [...]
A Day In The Sun
A Day In The Sun by The Phoenix Foundation (download here) This is a great little song from some guys in New Zealand that i thought was appropriate for Spring showing up. The band gets its name from a group from the show MacGyver

3 Rounds
3 Rounds and A Sound by Blind Pilot (download here) (Buy from Amazon) Just a great little mellow song by a Portland band that was sent to me from Matt Lewis. He has a thing for emotional tunes and this is a good one. Check it out
I Could Be With Anyone
I Could Be With Anyone (Kevin Devine Cover) by Manchester Orchestra (download here) (Buy from Amazon) This is a great mellow song that belongs 4 years ago on an O.C. episode. It’s off a new EP where Manchester Orchestra covers Kevin Devine and Kevin covers them. Good stuff and thanks to dinosaursareshy for sending to [...]
Workingman Blues
Workingman Blues by Bob Dyl*an (download here) (Buy from Amazon) This is just a nice meandering song that i got addicted to in 2006. It definitely holds up. Give me a listen
Lovers’ Instrumental
lovers’ carvings by Bibio (download here) (Buy from Amazon) Had a great time at a wedding this weekend and this was one of the numbers played. When you go to a wedding where the groom’s in a legit band, you get great music. This tune is relaxing and lovely. I highly recommend it.

Wake Up To This Cover
Wake Up by Paolo Nutini (Arcade Fire cover) (download here) (Buy Original on Amazon) The original song is a classic – a great song. This is a mellower, calmer version but it still delivers. Happy Friday!
