Mylo House Tunes
Emotion 98.6 by Mylo (download here) (Buy from Amazon) If you like working to smooth tunes, this is just your type of song. Lately at work, this is just what we’ve been rolling to. It’s from 2004, but it’s still brand new to me.

Zebra Jam
Zebra by John Butler Trio (download here) (Buy from Amazon) A brand new old school song. Just what you need to power through the weekend.

Jay-Z Collision With Linkin Park
Numb/Encore by Jay-Z and Linkin Park (download here) (Buy from Amazon) This was an official mashup when both artists got together to make this. It’s a great combination. It also makes for a great Miami Vice trailer. Too bad that movie wasn’t better but this song is still pretty amazing

Laura
Laura by Scissor Sisters (download here) (Buy from Amazon) These guys (and gal) came on the scene hard in 2004 with some disco, glam and club music, and although they followed it up with a some weaker albums, their debut remains super solid. This is one of the lesser-known tracks from that.

Twenty Questions
Twenty Question by The Beastie Boys (download here) (Buy from Amazon) I love the Beasties because they are pretty versatile. They do cool instrumentals, some rock, some country, and some rap. This tune is their only (as far as i know) Brazilian tune and it’s a chill-out bouncy little tune. Enjoy

I’m Soft
Soft by Kings of Leon (download here) (Buy from Amazon) One of the lesser known songs by KOL. I love that they write an entire song about erectile dysfunction. If you can’t get it up, this has to be your theme song
Ain’t nothing but a pipe dream and my guitar
Glory Bound by Martin Sexton (download here) (Buy from Amazon) An acoustic chill song to finish out the week about a guy trying to make his dreams come true. We can all relate. Martin also has a new album out today if you’re a fan.

Not Everyone Who Gets Paid Makes A Lot of Money
Janine by Birdmonster (download here) This is another one of my favorite tracks of 2007 and is just a good classic rock song (with a touch of indie rock, if that makes sense). It was one of their first 3 songs on their initial EP. These guys are one of the bands that rejected traditional [...]

New Year Changes
Changes by Seu Jorge (David Bowie cover) (download here) This is from the The Life Aquatic soundtrack and it’s a great Bowie cover. Nice and mellow and appropriate as we bring in the new year. Time for some changes
Modern GnR Goodness
Loving The Alien by Velvet Revolver (download here) There was so much hype around Chinese Democracy last year that people forget about the other GnR members (Slash, Duff, and Matt S.) and their 2004 Velvet Revolver album. This is my favorite track from that album and this track has some vintage Slash guitar flowing through [...]
