A Mouthful of Diamonds
Mouthful of Diamonds by Phantogram(download here) (Buy from Amazon) One of the better songs to groove to that i’ve heard in a while. If you need to do some trivial task at work. Put this song on and it’ll become infinitely better.
Love Is All I Am
Love Is All I Am by Dawes (download here) (Buy from Amazon) A really great song by one of my favorite new bands. These guys have Wilco potential. Can’t wait for their next album.
More Sounds
The Only Ones by The Sounds (download here) (Buy from Amazon) Some good late night girl rock. Good power ballad for a workout mix.
North Avenue
E. North Avenue by Kidd Russell (download here) (Buy from Amazon) A catchy tune that reminds me a little bit of Arrested Development – the band not the show. Apparently Kidd Russell used to be a College Football star and turned his music 101 class into a career.
Muse Uprising
Uprising by Muse (download here) (Buy from Amazon) This is one of the best pure rock tunes i’ve heard in a while. Granted it was at #1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart for 17 nonconsecutive weeks, but i consistently find that people still haven’t heard it. Give it a listen
Enter Monster of Folk Sandman
Sandman, The Brakeman, and Me by Mosters of Folk (download here) (Buy from Amazon) Whenever a supergroup comes out, i get skeptical because their music typically sucks. So when Jim James from My Morning Jacket), Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis from Bright Eyes and M. Ward (from She and Him) got together, i thought it was [...]
Lady Tigra Mashup
Phantom On The Bottom (Lady Tigra vs. Justice) by DJ Paul V (download here) THis song has been on my workout mix for a while and over the months, it’s really grown on me as a solid workout song. Great for spinning, riding, running or anything.
Sister
Sister by Vetiver (download here) (Buy from Amazon) These guys are super chill but catchy. Their music has been described as ‘surreal’, ‘lullingly pleasant’, ‘tender and accessible’ and ‘quirky and warm’. I think that’s about right. I posted more their tunes a few months ago (Another Reason and Roll On and More of This)

Dinosaur Jr is Back
See You by Dinosaur Jr (download here) (Buy from Amazon) D Jr came out with a new album last year and it’s pretty good. This is one of my favorite tracks from it. Dinosaur was one of the pioneers of Grunge and unlike most of the bands of the 90′s they seem to be standing [...]

Call Me Franz
Call Me by Franz Ferdinand (cover of Blondie) (download here) (Buy from Amazon) The cover train continues. These guys know how to rock so when they take one of the best classic rock songs of all time, we’re all in for a treat
